CIAA Gets Down to Business During Tournament with Career Expo and Workshops
Over 600 community members expected to attend job fair and professional development sessions
The week-long Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) 2018 Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament line-up is more than action-packed games and fun, celebrity-filled events.
The conference will host its annual Career Expo on Thursday, Mar. 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Charlotte Convention Center (Ballroom) on 501 South College Street. It is free and open to the public.
Interactive professional development sessions will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., covering topics such as resume writing, financial literacy and pre- and post-interview communication. Over 400 participants are expected to attend.
“Our annual Career Expo continues to grow and is a major component of the tournament week experience,” said Commissioner Jacqie McWilliams. “We reached over 350 applicants last year and we anticipate even high numbers this year. Organizations in all areas of industry who are interested in connecting with our current students, recent grads, as well as those in the Charlotte community are registered to attend.”
