Dontia Barrett is a 21 year old, senior, psychology major from Durham, NC. She has served and represented WSSU as Miss Freshman, Miss Sophomore, the Junior Class President, Miss Winston-Salem State University, Movement of Youth Community Outreach site director, and was recently crowned Miss National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame on September 26, 2015, where she will serve on a national platform to represent all Historically Black College and University (HBCU) students across the nation.

As Miss NBCA Hall of Fame, her vision is to alter the perception of campus queens from the university’s most prized ornament to the university's most influential leader through her personal platform, “Power Women, EMPOWER Women” where many of her initiatives will be centered around women’s empowerment, community outreach, unity, and professional development. She also has a desire to cultivate a new culture of leadership by creating socially conscious HBCU students who take pride in their universities.

Following graduation, Dontia plans to get her Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in marketing with hopes of starting her own integrated marketing firm. She lives by the quote, “If God be for us, who can be against us.”
