Miss Saint Pauls College - Shalyn S. Davis
Shalyn Sierra Davis is a young woman walking in her God given destiny. Shalyn believes it is an honor and a privilege to reign as Miss Saint Paul’s College 2009-2010. Shalyn understands leadership is not about power, but “influence.” She is on a mission to let her light shine, to unconsciously give other people the permission to do the same. She is widely known at Saint Paul’s College, as a woman of excellence, in her academics, athletics, and most importantly her inspirational leadership. Shalyn Sierra Davis, the proud daughter of Alan Davis and Lynn Hudson, was born on May 20, 1988 in the beautiful city of Wilmington, DE. Shalyn is a senior majoring in Business Administration with a dual concentration in Marketing and English. Upon graduation Shalyn plans to attend a business school to receive her Masters along with a Doctorate Degree. Shalyn’s career aspiration is to become a best selling author, establishing her own business, along with a motivational career using her voice to impact the world.
Shalyn has been involved in numerous activities during her tenure at Saint Paul’s College. She is a member of the Lady Tigers Women’s Basketball Team, along with the Women’s Cross Country Team. She is also a member of the Dominion Leadership Program, Fellowship for Christian Athletes, The Voices of Transition Choir, The Student Government Association, Pre-Alumni, and the SPC Marketing Team. While in these organizations she has maintained an overall 3.95 G.P.A. As a result of her accomplishments in academics and on campus involvement she was inducted in the Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society and Alpha Kappa Mu Honor Society. Her most recent honor was to travel abroad to Costa Rica with the Dominion Leadership Program. She is the recipient of such distinguished honors such as a Departmental Scholar, as 2008-2009- Who’s Who Among College Students, Jeannette Lane Cole Prize for Public Speaking, and the All- Student Athletic Excellency Award.
Shalyn receives guidance and inspiration from her family as well as her church family, Spirit Life Ministries International. She is a community activist, mentor, and a volunteer with the youth in basketball clinics. She finds elation in her speaking engagements, traveling using the spoken word in a poetic form to encourage people about the goodness of God. Shalyn believes her attendance at Saint Paul’s College has been a remarkable experience. Shalyn lives by the quote “If you say it, you’ll see it, and if you see it, you can have it.” Shalyn’s motto: Charm is deceptive and Beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
